I love creating sea glass jewelry and art. Actually, I think that the two are the same, some may not. Sea glass can be incorporated not only into jewelry but into all types of art.  If you are looking for a sea glass gifts make sure you do a search for sea glass art.

If you are lucky enough to live near a beach or a river where you can search for sea glass what you will quickly find is that it all isn’t pefectly smoothed and rounded, as might be the impression you are left with if you do a search online for sea glass.

I had a discussion with someone about this at a craft fair I attended recently. She was very disappointed with the glass she was finding compared to what she saw online. I explained to her that what she was seeing online for sale is the best of the best.

Sea glass art encompasses many things and this is where craft quality glass becomes valuable. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, I consider the creation of sea glass jewelry an art. Sea glass is also used in many different arts, it’s used in mosaics, and set into mortar. It is used to create sea glass windows, where sea glass is glued to glass in a specific pattern. It is used in mobiles and dream catchers and paperweights. It is used in sculptures and pictures and sea glass wall art. I have seen Christmas trees created with sea glass. There are as many sea glass art ideas as there are artisans that have them.

One of the best ways to find out about all aspects of sea glass is to join any one of the many sea glass forums online. There is a wealth of information on them.
